Your home insurance may cover you but these days public liability insurance is a must

As to advertising the teachers on the UK Piano page seem to get lots of work

Cheaper advertising can be got by advertising in shop windows, school noticeboards - if they give you permission - and parish magazines are VERY good, because they have a wide readership but don't charge stupid money. Also if you have/know kids who are putting on a show at school, you could ask to advertise in the programme, ditto church concerts.
Word of mouth will do the work for you if you're good!

Direct line would be a place to start we use a company called

Anthony Jones Ltd
Albany House
31 London Road
Bromley
Kent BR1 1DG
08453 444477

You should only need 2 mill for your home unless you are going into schools then you should have 5 mill depending on the LEA
