I am a piano and violin teacher with over 12 years' experience of teaching in independent schools and private practice. I graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and the University of Edinburgh. 

I have a friendly, fun and very flexible approach, and can help you play just for pleasure or prepare for exams, whether you want to play classical, pop, jazz or traditional music. I have a proven track record of exam success with many students achieving merits and distinctions. I have experience with SQA National 5 and Higher, Associated Board, Trinity and Rock School exams, and also teach theory. Coaching for the grade 5 theory exam also offered. 

I am a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

How Many Piano Grades Are There
There are 8 grades in piano. The examinations are set by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and Trinity. Trinity's music selection tends to be towards pop than classical in (ABRSM) you can not progress beond Grad 5 if you donít have grade 5 theory exam
