Opinions on Wilh. Steinberg piano

Post by Sweep »

I wondered if anyone could offer an opinion on Wilh. Steinberg pianos?
I am considering their model IQ28 besides similar models from Schimmel, Seiler and Petrof.
The sales blurb that I got from the dealer indicates Renner Stuttgart action, Ciresa soundboard, built by hand (whatever that means) in Germany, various CHOC Le Monde de Musique prizes etc. The price is also very competitive compared to the Schimmel and Seiler, it is just not as well known. To me anyway.
Anyway, I have organised a trip to the dealer next Monday so if anyone can let me know their thoughts on the Steinberg, and how they compare to the other names mentioned (quality, aftersales, problems, touch, sound, finish etc) I would greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks ...Sweep

p.s. this is NOT Gerh. Steinberg

I have only seen one but this is the order I would place your list in

Seiler
Schimmel
Will Steinberg
Petrof (some models have Renner Actions but some don’t)
