Winkelmann Braunschweig 1936 Upright

Post by pinhead »

Hi there, I have just signed up today, I have the above named piano and i'm interested to find out more about it? Has anyone on here heard of them or know where I can find the correct serial number? It has a small label attached inside that says J.Marr & Sons & 1936 written in pencil on the corner. There is also a number stamped at the top right handside of the inside, reading #15492. Im not sure if this is the correct serial or another number.

Any help greatly appreciated

Pierce piano atlas has no numbers for Winkelmann, but does for Zeitter & Winkelmann. If you apply those serial numbers, yoyurs would be 1908. You'd be better off asking Bill on the 'Piano History' section.
I play for my own amazement... :piano;

Do you have any pictures?

The 1936 label may just be a dealer's label from when it has been resold, or even when it has been overhauled.
