Early Romantic/Romantic for me: Robert and Clara Schumann, Claude Debussy (although his music has transitional/modern characteristics). I find Felix Mendelssohn's music is very intuitive to play.

Re: Clavinova 330 or 340? Is the internet useful?
You may or may not be aware that the CLP-340 sits right in the middle of the CLP-300 range. The models are CLP-320, 330, 340, 370 and 380. The CLP-340 is a very respectable digital piano. For me, the CLP-330 sits to close to the entry level despite having some descent characteristics. If your wife i...

Re: Yamaha Clavinova purchasing help please
A CLP-920 would have been the entry level model for the CLP-900 range and so would not show the best example of a Clavinova model - I'm sure the piano sample will be poor by current standards. Bear in mind also that the CLP range has since had the CLP-100, CLP-200 and now the current CLP-300 range s...

yes, I know its called the 'soft' or 'una corda' pedal, but it doesn't do anything!! "Una Corda" on an upright piano is almost fictional too. The keys do not move on an acoustic as you would see and feel on a grand piano. Also, is there such a thing a "half-pedalling" on a digit...

If you are not looking for an average instrument without busting the bank, look into the Casio Privia range. The point is that you don't feel any difference between the keyboard actions is more important than what anyone else thinks. The dealer has perhaps over-stated things slightly because the GH action is definitely lighter than an upright keyboard action; the GH3 would be closer to an upright. One thin...

It is a tremolo but it is a fast tremolo. To be honest, I have never really come across tremolos that specify the speed with which you are to play the alteration from one note to another. The idea is to create a 'rumbling' effect with the notes.
