My desk system is very much like the old ones. It is fixed ( dosn't swivel)and all you need to do is lift the top lid and hang it on the top door. Very simple design which can be mass produced cheaply but we do them to order to we can make it to the right height, length and colour. What you need, is...

where have the book holders gone?
My pet hate for new pianos is the lack of music book support. How come new pianos have come in leaps and bounds in terms of quality and tone design etc but they all have rubbish music desks? Have the designers every tried to put a music book on their design? It dosn't work. The worst thing is that s...

I wish Kemble would do the Motzart in some other finish as well, Im not loving the Black version either. I like the look of the Mahogany and the inlay sets it apart from other pianos but not everyone likes inlay. A nice walnut satin/luster( not the rubbish mahogany stained stuff) would be nice and p...

I always say that we (as a company) do our own removals which stops uness. damage. I will come and tune the piano 2-3 weeks after delivery, check it over and from there on, look after the servicing for you. As regards to pricing, no dealer wants to turn a sale away so I would guess most dealers will...

I am amazed at the number of 40-50 year olds (all male) that are addicted to ebay and other internet sites and the the other half complains about the amount of rubbish coming through the post. I am encouraged by some peoples comments on wanting to buy local. I do have to come close to some idiot price but I feel that if you try and beat/match the internet people then only they will win as they have no overheads to worry about. I do get calls from people asking my best price on brand name ...

def. try a Kawai K6 at around £5,800RRp The Kemble 131 is nice but pricey. The Kemble Motzart is very nice, if they have some still available as its limted to 250 units. A Samick 131WSU is nice and a little cheaper at around £5k. A secondhand U3/ U3X 5million upwards (from 1990) Remember, each piano...

damage to any piano occurs when humidity fluctuates and the wood fibres expand and contract. This movement over time will cause damage and tuning stability problems. The best option by far is fitting an automatic climate control which will keep the piano at a constant 42%RH. I would recommend a 2 ba...

The new yamaha system is good but a new retro system will be a lot better than an old factory system. The Piano disk or Gabor systems are OK with the lastest improvements. But the good thing about a retro system is that you just need a new stop bar and the system can be fitted to another piano. The ...

only get it if its UK model but at that price, it might be quite old. The U1 is a better piano (depending on the treatment its had) than the B1. The U3 is a great instrument but its very loud in a small room, so think where its going to go. You might be better off spending the money on a good UX1 wh...

Try this out, its a great way to show people how a grand action works.
I take my hat off to them!
The only thing is that it dosn't go into check, but hey, still think its good.

The only answer to remove scratches it to create scratches but to make them smaller and smaller until you can not see the scratches ( unless you have a microscope). Polyester is a modern finish so its very hard wearing and general polish is not going to get rid of a scratch. Black T-cut is a mild ab...

wood is a good transmitter of sound, a pianos tone is very important. The Kawai CA-91 is an electric piano with wooden keys and a spruce soundboard. Its the only digital piano with a wooden soundboard. Speakers are directional, sound from piano is un-directional and makes a fuller sound. The keys in...

soon, the only way to learn the trade will be to go abroad. This is total madness. The way the market is, this dosn't help! Who voted them in? I didn't. name and shame the dealer! Some dealers are only in it for the money. You can contact Yamaha but they might just send you back to the dealer. You have a 5 year warranty and that means a lot. Write (regestered) to the dealer to say what is wrong and threatern with legal action if it is not taken care...

you do reliase how much the casework is going to cost? Reveneering the piano is not an option unless you own an oil well. Burr walnut is very expensive, not to mention finding someone to veneer it. Good veneerers are very hard to find. A cheaper option would be to try and repair the existing veneer ...
