Ha oh sorry about that last post.. that was such a lot of words. Well, I did think about having one in my room, but the thing is.. my room is an extension and well, there isn't floor boards. I'm just standing on this kinda chipboard thing covered in carpet. I don't know why that was, other than the ...

My understanding of a mini piano is that the height is shorter. The height in my house isn't really the issue, but I guess the illusion of it being smaller would keep my mother happy. I started my piano lessons today. I need some sort of piano to practise on, or I'm not going to pass my grades. I do...

Weighted hammer action means that the keys are very heavy at the bottom and are lighter as you go down, or the other way around. Normal hammer action doesn't do that. I think that's what it means anyway. So, if you want something similar to the feel of an acoustic piano, I think the best option woul...

I envy you.. having a 100 year old grand piano. I quite like Rolands from what I've seen, the first thing I noticed about them, though, is their sticky keys. I hate the feel of the keys, your fingers almost stick to them. The thing is, after playing a grand, it's strange to play a digital because th...

Yes there tends to be more people playing piano down south anyway. I live in Darlington up north, in the North Yorkshire area. There aren't many piano players here and certainly not many teachers. The lady whom I called was one of about 2 in this area. I'm lucky that they're so cheap or I would not ...

Thanks for the fast reply! The main issue that I have is space - I don't really have room for an upright piano, atleast not in my parent's eyes. The thing is though, I don't think I could afford a digital piano. They retail at over 1000 pounds, and the cheapest -close to real thing- digital piano I ...

Digital or Acoustic Piano

I live in a small house so I think I'm going to have to buy a digital piano. I really don't want to.. I see as an almost insult to pianos and much prefer to sit at an acoustic piano with lovely heavy ivory keys. I'd love to have one in our (large) living room but I really don't think my parents woul...

Piano lesson fees?

I'm going to get piano lessons for 6 pounds a lesson. I was actually quite shocked at how cheap it was - I was thinking it was much more. Are most piano lessons about this price?
