You are quite right Bill, BS1452 was a British Standard specification for the manufacture of cast iron. You will see it stamped on lots of castings if you look carefully.

"Daniel" sounds like a stencilled brand.

Your trouble is that I doubt many cabinet makers you find will have any experience of building piano casework. Also you could expect to pay $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Rebuilding a case is a MAJOR task and requires great skill. If you want to do this, I would only recommend leaving it to a cabinet maker. Do not allow any WD40 etc to get onto the soundboard or it will affect the wood - place a sheet of card between the strings and the soundboard before you spray. Any metal parts you have cleaned the rust off, I would use very fine grade emery cloth (600) to make it shiny then very lightly wipe linseed oil over it to seal it and stop the bare metal rusting again.

Replace ALL the hammers or the newer notes will have a different tone.

If the cover on the hammer rail is wood, moisten it to soften in, attach it with animal glue (pearl glue) and use a steam iron to iron it on to finish off.
