I teach piano and music exclusively online, using Zoom - my tuition covers the following:

RATES (piano):
£20 per half hour
£30 per hour
 

MY BACKGROUND

I am currently actively working in the music industry, working as a musical director (primarily for musical theatre), keyboard player, and arranger. I currently teach piano and vocal rep/audition coaching privately, and am resident musical director at two youth theatre schools - Candice Conway Theatre School (Borehamwood) and The Biz Theatre School (Guildford)

I trained as a musical director at The MTA (Musical Theatre Academy) in North London, one of the countries top drama colleges. I also hold a BMus (Hons) Creative Music Technology degree from the University of Surrey, a top 10 higher education establishment for music, studied jazz piano at Birmingham Conservatoire and classical piano to Grade 8 ABRSM (at the age of 16) and beyond.

I teach everyone, young and old, beginners to advanced. Lessons for serious learners, casual learners, people working towards grades, people working towards no grades! Classical, jazz, contemporary... whatever interests you. And anywhere in between... I adapt to the individual as I'm quite aware different learning styles benefit different people.

Jazz Musivc in the UK Jazz in the UK is a form of music derived from jazz in the deep south of the USA. It arrived in the UK on records and Jazz performers who visited the country while it was a relatively new genre, soon after the end of World War I. Jazz began to be played by British musicians from the 1930s many in the south of England and became popular in the rest of the UK by 1940s, often within dance bands.

Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club opened in London, in 1959. Zoot Sims Jazz saxophonist was the club's first American visitor in 1962 Many famous Jaz artists have played there, including: Earl "Fatha" Hines, Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day, Nina Simone, Curtis Mayfield, Blossom Dearie, Dianne Reeves, Stacey Kent, Katie Melua, Jamie Cullum, Bobby Broom, Wynton Marsalis, Madeleine Peyroux, Prince, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, George Benson and Cassandra Wilson. Also, in 1970 Jimi Hendrix's last public performance was at Ronnie Scott's.
