My name is Rosie Blackwood and I have been teaching piano and flute for many years. I am passionate about music and love witnessing the development of individuals into musical beings. I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to learn an instrument and am proud to be in a job where I can facilitate this. I am happy to teach people of all ages and abilities and have helped pupils with their music exams from Prep Test to Grade 8. I teach from my own home in Churchdown, Gloucestershire and also privately within local primary schools.
My preferred exam board is the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) of whom I am a member, and whose exams I encourage and support pupils to take and pass. I am also able to support pupils who chose to take exams using the Trinity Guildhall syllabus if this is their preference. I will also assist pupils in preparing music for school exams and performances or those who are choosing to learn specific pieces. There is never any pressure to take an exam.
I am a member of the Musician's Union and have enhanced DBS and child safeguarding training.

He was encouraged to study music by his father, Muzio was sponsored as a young composer by Sir Peter Beckford who brought him to England to advance his studies in music. Later, he toured Europe numerous times from his long-standing base in London. It was on one of these occasions, in 1781, that he engaged in a piano competition with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
