Looking to develop your musical and artistic skills and horizons, or willing to go through the grade system, or even just looking for a bit of a personal challenge/fun?
Ages: 17 and above. Suitable for working and retired adults, A-Level and university students as well as teachers/players of other musical instruments willing to develop their piano/keyboard skills.
Pupils of all levels are all equally welcome, although beginners are preferred, so that a correct technique can be developed from scratch.
Requirements: An open heart, love and respect for all kinds of music, a genuine willingness to learn, very short finger-nails and of course, some spare time for regular daily practice (although I understand completely that due to work/family/life commitments there are times when this is not possible).
Lessons include (as required): repertoire development, technique (Cortot/Tagliaferro), tone production, style, history of music & arts, improvisation, arrangement, analysis, and active listening.
Piano, jazz piano, theory, harmony, analysis, composition, aural training, improvisation, etc. "High achievers" may be given the option of entering grade exams (but that's entirely optional).
Sessions are at my own teaching studio, which comprises a beautiful and shiny Yamaha U3 acoustic piano in tip-top condition (more balanced upper register and more grand-like action than the average U3) for repertoire and technique, as well as a digital system comprising a digital piano and a variety of training software that facilitate a more intuitive development of theory, aural and rhythmic skills.
I have a page on my website with lots of more detailed information (find the link on the panel on the left). If anything on the site is not quite clear, or if you have any more questions that are not answered by the text, just let me know.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
All the best ;-)
