good day... is it true that when the climate is cold the piano is so much affected? i mean... when you press the piano key it sticks or is not able to come back at once so no sound was produced if it is pressed a number of times...

The answer to your original question is 'yes' and 'no'.

I'm profoundly sorry if I struck a raw nerve, you know, for daring to think that your name could possibly match that character.

Was it the tacky pearls?

It's not so much the cold as the damp which usually accompanies it in this country, anyway. Dry cold isn't troo much of a problem. Also condensation can create trouble if pianos are in cold unaired rooms. Which country are you in?

Hello Ma. As Barrie says you may need a tropicalized piano. I noticed on another thread that the back of your soundboard had been painted. I thought at first this was due to an over zealous decorator, but in fact this is often done to tropicalize a soundboard as it is believed less moisture will enter it (although it should be painted both sides). Plated strings can be used to prevent rust and leather parts are often sewn or pinned into place.
Your sticking key problem is probably caused by moisture in a wooden action part. This could easily be a center (hinge) in the mechanism.

Ah yes. Soundboards are also sometimes painted to reduce the possibility of termite attack. This is also a feature of some tropicalized pianos.
