'The whippen flange' of the upright piano is loose. How can I fix it myself?

• In this video, we can see the loose screw on 'the whippen flange' or where it was loose.
  
  Here is how to fix it yourself:
  
  1 Remove the action from the upright piano.
  
  2 On the reverse side of the action, locate 'the loose whippen flange'. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screw securely. Ensure that the flange is positioned correctly, not pushed to the side, similar to the other flanges (see how fix it with 00:29 this video).
  
  3 Verify the functionality of the whippen by pressing it from below with your finger, as if it were being pressed up using the capstan of the key.

I had the same issue on my 30 year old Samick. As it is an old, not worth much instrumnet, I took the action out and glued the flange to the wippen. It kept popping out and it's not worth the money to replace those parts.

It worked and so far, it's holding together. I assume it is just age and wear and tear that made it fail.

If it's a valauable piano, get new parts.
