No you should not limit your search to Broadwoods they are very inconsistent in there tonal quality the older you get the more so I have seen some 1900 pianos that were remarkable but I have seen more that are not good at all


1910 to 1930 is regarded by many as the golden age of piano making. Some put it down to cheep labour and materials, wile others say it was the wood used for the soundboards at that time


Why not make the studio an offer they can’t refuse! If you are seeking that special sound then you are going to have to travel or how will you know it is the one for you
