Age of another Hobart M. Cable piano please?

Post by ruby cadilac »

Hello, I have a Hobart M. Cable baby grand with a serial number of 140,948. Can someone please tell me the age? Thanks

Also it is in great shape and I was wondering if it was worth it to replace the strings. It is a 4'9" mahagony.

140948 = c1937

As to the other question with out looking at the piano it is difficult to give a realistic answer, However, the rule of thumb normally points to yes when it come to spending money on Grands but you really need to seek the service of your local piano tuners who restores pianos and ask their advice.

I called a reputable technician out. It will be interesting to see what he says! Thanks for such a speedy reply!

Maybe I will post the outcome if you think anyone is interested.
