Steinberg

Post by dorsetpiano »

Hello, I have just bought a very nice Steinberg Berlin baby grand from Weymouth Pianos. I was told that there is 1936 stamped on the back of the bottom A key and there is a serial number of 34426. It also has a sticker inside the lid saying Churchill, Park St, in Bristol who presumably supplied it. Does anyone have any information on these instruments eg how many of these were imported, were there more in the range etc.

Thanks

If you search this forum, you will find 76 postings about the various Steinbergs, but I have nothing particularly useful to offer on the subject, it's all a bit too modern for me!

My parents have a piano with the following label on it: "Steinberg Piano" Concert Grand. Serial number inside is a metal plate is 27811 or 21811. Can anyone tell me what type of "Steinberg" this is? The interior is wood. Thank you.
