If it helps, I know lots of qualified musicians who own and swear by the better Japanese pianos. A well set up U3 (or C3) will give the Germans a run for their money. Our local cathedral organist owns a C3 as do I.

It must be old. I learned to play on a nice Sir Herbert Marshall, Sons and Rose which was I guess 1920s. The piano under discussion seems to be pre knighthood or sons (and Rose).

TBH the chances of it being any good at all are very slim.

Their concert grands are in a different league from the console upright range commonly seen over here have played a few nice piano,Mason and Hamlin also make fantastic grands also. Played a few Bostons at S&S. Have to say I was unimpressed - I think this was partly due to the lack of time and effort that seemed to have been put into setup. Whereas the S&S pianos were set up to perfection.
