In the words of Mr Kipling, it's been Ruddyhard, but I'm still here, still practicing and (just about) smiling.
I've missed you lot
Congrats to Dave on your concert, I'm very impressed!
Love,

You obviously have much less fluff and dust in your house than I do in mine If I tried that, it would play like a marshmallow in no time.Gill the Piano wrote: (unless you're like me and never close it)

Re: Brand new - what book to self teach/
I've tried both the Classic Piano Course and Alfred's one. Alfred's now sits, unused on the shelf, I didn't get on with it at all as I found he used some terms before explaining them. The Classic Piano Course is good, but is assumes some knowledge on reading music, which may be fine for you. The one...

Hi Dave,
I missed it! I had to start work at 7 and before I knew what was happening the prog had finished. Did they play it for you?
Hope so.

Hello Joseph, Sympathies from here, my parents have both been struck down with this virus and spent Christmas being unable to eat and feeling dreadful. You're right, there's a world of difference between a cold and 'flu, with 'flu there is absolutely no way you can work through it, you simply won't ...

I'm moving into a house which is being converted from its former life as a shop. You've bought Woolies? I hope you get your beloved back safe and sound very soon. I'm not the best practicer in the world, but even I would miss my set of keys if they weren't available for a week or two. I hope the ti...

Hi Dave, thank you for the brilliant present, it's taken pride of place over Rosie today! I'm a lucky bunny, my husband bought me an adjustable piano stool  I'm absolutely thrilled with it. The stool that came with the piano was slightly too high for me and I couldn't put my feet flat on the ...

I'm a complete beginner too, but still have the pleasure of being biased! I'd definitely recommend an acoustic if you can house it; I get terribly distracted by all those added bits and bobs, when all you want is to recreate the great instrument itself. My budget was MUCH less than yours, but I stil...

Hi Dave, I'm no expert, but I'd say it would very much depend on what causes her restriction, so ligaments/tendons/muscles or bones. If it's not bones, then I recon piano playing would definitely be great therapy, if bones, then the restriction would always be there, and someone would have to show h...

Well, you never know what 2009 may bring! However.... when I look at the ABRSM site...

Well, now I'm really hacked off! Earlier today, I couldn't even work, let alone think of piano practice due to my Reynauds kicking in  I have it all year round, but of course it's much worse when the weather's like this. I had no feeling in my fingers or toes for several hours. My thumbs were ...

Under the Animal By-Products Regulation (EC) No. 1774/2002 (don't you just love 'em?) you're not supposed to feed kitchen scraps to your feathered friends, maybe a bse thing, not feeding meat to meat, even if you don't use meat? Hi Dave, Warning, this is long… When I was 17, I had high blood pressure. This was bad enough for my doc to threaten me with medication, so, I decided to try and do something about it myself.
