Choice of repertoire for performance at piano club
I would like to ask if anyone has some good suggestions for piano music that I can play/perform at my monthly piano club ? Since the December meeting I am somewhat floundering about what I might learn for January and so far have tried some Greig (Solveig's song) and an arrangement of a Delibes' orchestral score.
The type of music I learn with my piano teacher are typically the easier Mozart or Beethoven sonatas but I tend to think these are just a little too difficult for me to perform in front of an audience when in addition to the music I have to also cope with nerves. They also take me more than a few weeks to learn.
Pieces at around ABRSM grade 5 or 6 from the classical or romantic period would be ideal. Also if you have any suggestions for books containing various pieces at around that level.
Thank you for reading this post.

Re: Choice of repertoire for performance at piano club
I have just had a first play through Einaudi's I Giorni and to my surprise think it may be suitable for performance at our meeting on 20Jan. It is similar to the piece I played at the December meeting, Sakamoto's 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence'. The latter wasn't my choice and was totally out of character to what I normally play but I was requested to play it by the group leader. The Sakamoto piece was both a pleasure to learn and to perform but left me with uncertainty as to what I should be presenting at the January meeting.

It would also be nice to see contributions to this forum from Colin.
