Graded classical repertoire book series

Post by vandexa1 »

Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you might like to recommend a very good series of books of graded classical repertoire. I have been using Masterworks Classics, but I am wondering if there might be something available that is better. My primary concern is that I would like to the songs in the books to be, not only graded in terms of difficulty, but to be musically appealing and interesting or even fun to play.

Any suggestions that you may offer will be greatly appreciated. Thank yo so much.

The Classics to Moderns series is a good one. The Associated Board do a series called 'Upgrade' which is designed to slot between the grade exams but I don't think they are classics. If Colin (Nicholson) reads this he'll be more use than me as he teaches. You could always PM him.
I play for my own amazement... :piano;
