Slow to respond Keys

Hello

My 11 year old daughter is learning to play the piano. We have a 1930 Weber baby grand piano. She is grade one level. She complains that when she has to play 'loud and fast' it is very hard on the piano as you have to press the keys so far down ( not like her teacher's piano). I do not play and do not know if it is that age of the piano that is a problem or my daughters playing!

The piano is tuned regularly. Any suggestions would be greatly received.

If I were you, I'd ask your tuner if he/she can do anything like, for instance, tie helium ballons to the dampers and key backs, regulate it, whatever.

Yes, ask yout tuner what s/he thinks of the touch of the piano.It might need regulating or - more expensively - recentring. Or helium balloons, of course...

Helium-filled ballons in cars are odd, they accelerate faster than the car and brake sharper too.

Is her piano teachers piano a keyboard or an upright Grands do have heaver touch than uprights also she may find that the depth of touch on your piano is deeper than the teachers

Your piano tuner can advise However, I am finding that quite a lot of piano tuners don't want to do any work other than tuning theses days
