You mention software but software for what - piano voices, recording, arranging, composing?

Wow I just meant plain piano lessons.

I suppose this shows how ignorant I am.

I thought there must be one or two good websites that people could recommend that will show me the basics and possibly explain some of the things that you just mentioned.

Hey! There are some lessons online, but u wanna make sure you get the ones that actually teach you and you get some good content from them. If your brand new to piano, I would recommend this site. You can get a free report sent right to your inbox with some tips, and they also have the top 2 places to get lessons online that work and are not just scams. Hope it helps you out a bit. :) http://www.learntoplaypianolessons.com

Hi
I have used Rocket Piano which is an online piano course, and it is excellent. If you go to my website, which is on my signature and go to my free lessons page, they offer a free trial and they are also doing a special offer to purchase the whole course at the moment.

Good Luck.

I have developed a piece of software although it really more geared up to help children as a stepping stone onto piano, maybe it will be of some use though. When I was a child my babysitter taught me to play basic songs on the piano using numbers and that’s what inspired the design http://www.wacdesign.com/pianoherojunior
Alternatively http://www.synthesiagame.com/may be better suited to you. It actually allows you to use a midi keyboard. It’s definitely worth checking out.
Hope this helps.

Hi there,

There are some great software programs out there. I have reviewed the ones I think are the best on my website. I agree that Rocket Piano is probably the best for content vs price. Go to the http://www.playperfectpiano.com/best-piano-software.php for a review. There is also lots of info on all aspects of learning and playing the piano.
