Post by mgmcgill »

Hi all,

Looking to chat to someone doing the above grade. I would like to chat about choice of pieces, practise methods etc.....Generally just swap some good advice with each other.

Thanks

Hi Michael,

I should hopefully have left grade 5 behind after March - but you never know, I might be working from that syllabus if things don't go to plan!

Good Luck

Hi Caroline,

Are you doing any of the alternative pieces or are all your pieces from the Trinity Book?

I was just wondering as the alternative pieces from the 2009-2011 syllabus is the same as 2007-2008 and I've picked 2 pieces from them.......

Alternative Pieces

BEETHOVEN Bagatelle in D, op. 119 no. 3
KULLAK The Race op. 81 no. 6 from Scenes from Childhood

And From Group B(2009-2002 Book)

CHOPIN Valse KK IVb no.11

Hi Michael

My programme is

A/
Kabalevsky Sonatina op.27 no 18 (from the TG book)
Kuhlau Sonatina op55 no 1: 3rd movement

B/
Camilleri Cantilena (from the TG book)

So, if I have to retake grade 5 for any reason (most likely because my fingers turn to jelly in the exam!) I'll need to learn 2 new pieces.

Regards
Caroline
