First of all, start stockpiling Prozac...seriously, though;
Approach local schools - lots of pupils all in one place and the school does the legwork finding victims - I mean pupils.
Put the word out at schools; if you have kids, mention at the school gates that you have 'a couple of vacancies' for pupils (mustn't appear too desperate!). Or ask friends to do so.
Church magazines are usually good cheap advertising, and churches have good networking so word of mouth will result.
Music shops; tell them behind the counter in case they have a list of teachers, and/or display a card. Always say you have 'a few vacancies' rather than just seeking pupils generally, otherwise you appear inexperienced.
Yellow Pages and Directories are an expensive last resort, but do work.
Local shop windows - corner shops, newsagents, that sort of thing.

Get in NOW before the term starts, as that's when people will start looking. Good luck - I think you're very brave!! :wink:
