Brinsmead Grand Piano Action C-1870-1880

What a nightmare!

I am trying to do some repairs on this action, but there is no information about this style of action anywhere on the internet that I can find, and it is really doing my head in!

The action is quite simple, I would almost compare it to an upright action, and it seems everything I try and do to the action of this piano has the reverse effect that I desire!

My question is, has anyone ever had to work on the action of a Brinsmead grand piano before, and if so, did you find it especially challenging?

Any constructive criticism and help would be greatly appreciated

I hate the old Pleyel actions with the check wire trhough the middle of the shank. The underneath damper system is a joy to work with, give it to someone else!

Dare we ask who made the action first off...Is it a maybe a very old Herburger Brooks?
