Hi,

1847 is an OLD piano! Has it been restored? Even if it has, I'd guess it is likely to be more of a collector's piece than a player's instrument. What do you want it for? If you're a collector, then you have a better idea of what it is worth to you than I do. If you want it to play, I'd suggest you should take a look at ebay.co.uk, lots of perfectly respectable small grands from the early 20th century appear there at around &1000-1250.

This is very old and should be approached with caution. It may well be that the seller has had the piano restored and is hoping to recoup the cost of having it restored.

Its hard to say without seeing the piano but you may well do better by opting for something of say early 20th century (that has a much greater likelyhood of being repaired if say a hammer breaks or something).
