copper strings

Post by Ceres ll »

Hi,

It seems to be a generally admited practice in the world of piano techs to turn the bass strings when they buzz or rattle. I did it on the first octave of my spinet and had a very good result; they all sound well and have stopped to buzz after doing one turn left.

I would like to know if i may extend this practice to the other copper wires, up to third octave. If yes, how many turns i can do before reaching the breaking point.

Thanks

Ceres might, but the strings should be ok.
