55 -64% humidity do i need to install anything ?

Post by Tenor1 »

Just got a new hydrometer (non digital) my music room is currently between 55 and 64% humidity. Would any forum members suggest I install a heated tube to keep the damp down in my paino (I think they are called a damp Chaser?)

Thanks

Depends on your piano; older pianos are often quite happy in higher humidity, but younger ones can get a bit stroppy, with sticking notes manifesting their displeasure. Put the piano on an inside wall if possible, and leave the door open if possible/practicable. If notes stick, then invest in a Damppchaser.
