32-64-128 note polyphony - some questions...

Post by jaromir »

Well, I'm buying digital piano with 32-note polyphony only.
I want to ask few questions - hope some experienced pianist
will know answers :)

1. Is it possible, on 32-note polyphony digital piano, to play
good quite complicated compositons, such as Rachmaninov's Prelude "Alla marcia" Op.23 No. 5, or Saint-Saens's Piano Concertos, for example ?

2. Is it possible to upgrade such pianos in the future to more
polyphony ? And if yes, which manufactures support this ?

3. Any experience from owners / users of 32-note polyphony
digital pianos is welcome :)

Thanks to everyone in advance,

best regards,

Jaromir

32 notes really isn't enough for complex classical stuff - as soon as you start using the pedal you will be losing notes.
