Patching-up lacquer

Post by Openwood »

Is there some remedial action we can take to stop a crunch to the lacquered finish on our upright Samick piano? I’ve attempted to attach a photo but not sure if it’s worked. We are on offshore and not able to have anyone come across to view it under C-19 restrictions. I just don’t want it to get worse until it can be professionally attended to, and it’s quite bad already.
Thank you.

You could put some masking tape over it however if it's polyester which it probably is, they will have to dig away at the underlying problem.

If it's an impact bruise, say the size of 2p. Then you find actually the amount of polyester you have to remove is twice the size or more.

Even under current rules as from today tradespeople are allowed in your home to do work. However, it is how comfortable you are, and they are coming inside your home.
