Post by BelchinBilly »

Hi there,

I AM New Here so sorry if the question is pisted in a Wrong place.

A friend of mine owns a Chapell & Co piano in not too good shape. Hè Plans to strip the inside and Turn IT into a liquor cabinet. Is this a barbaric Move and should I stop him?

Soms More info:

The instruments carries two numbers:

27018 (1930's) next to the brand name
90320 (early 70's) engraved in the worden interior.

Will now try to post some pics

Please read the last 2 sentences in the blue box above.
Condition and whether worth restoring can only be known by an on-site face to face inspection.

Serial number usually found behind action, behind bass strings near pedal trap on soundboard.

If a Otto Higel action (Canada & London), those hammer springs on the damper rail are tricky to restore..... I'm on with one now.
