So Broadwood lives on!?

Post by LarryS »

I read previously that the company Broadwood & Sons stopped making pianos a while ago, yet I visited the site of Yorkshire Pianos yesterday and amongst the makers of new pianos is Broadwood, with a few in its range.
Are they actual Broadwoods or in name only, like Kemble?

As I understand Cavandish make Broadwoods for the export market and Broadwood make the pianos for the UK market as Broadwood have also moved up north to Yorkshire that may have changed.

I've been emailing Cavendish of late and the MD in his tag line has broad wood pianos website. As far as I can see Cavendish make Broadwood pianos for them as the sales and manufacture is at Cavendish's address.

I might be wrong though!
