Aspheim? What does it mean?

Post by PKAN »

Have found a secondhand piano described as an 'Aspheim' piano. What does this mean?

Other details inc.
-1986 model
-Badge-engineered Korean instrument, can't remember/doesn't know the make
-Described as a good-quality small modern upright with three pedals, in black high-gloss. It is of South Korean manufacture
-Regularly tuned by son of owner who is piano tuner

Does this sound worth investigating for someone on a budget?

If you have found the piano on an online auction or shop (but not viewed it in person), please send the link here, so we can see the piano, description and information.

Also need to see inside the piano clearly, with the front panel removed, so can see the mechanism/ names inside/ profile of name and shape of piano.

From previous experience, the name could be a Scandinavian retailers or some sort, but not a manufacturer name. Any manufacturer from Korea can build a default box-standard piano and stick their own name on..... therefore could be a stencil piano. Search "stencil piano" for more information. Some claim they are from Korea, but are originally made in the UK. Also depends on where you live in the world?

Aspheim is an old piano dealer in Oslo Norway.

It seems they had some uprights made in Korea and sold them under their own name.
You could contact the company for more information.
