Value of a Knight K20?

Post by themoog »

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a reconditioned K20 (c.1954). The case will be restored also. I've played it and it sounds nice but I've never bought a piano before and want to get this right!

The shop is looking for £2200 with a 5yr guarantee.

Does this sound ok?

Many thanks for any advice offered.

Maybe. See Suffolk Pianos - http://www.secondhandpiano.co.uk/used-pianos.html. If in doubt play some more.

Suffolk Pianos had a little used 1970s Knight (K10?) in pretty much original condition about a year ago for about £1750. I thought that was a good buy and I think I'd prefer one like that to a restored older instrument, but it would all depend on the quality of the work. What matters is condition not age; my own piano is over 85 years old.
