How good is my Kemble Baby Grand?

Post by DavePiercy »

Hi,

I'm returning to piano playing after some years of piano playing doldrums. I had lessons years ago up to Grade 7 (which I failed!) but am probably now about grade 5. (UK based).

I have a Kemble Baby Grand piano in excellent condition. It plays well, has been regularly tuned, and is at concert pitch. It is probably about 30 years old, and looks very handsome.

For a number of reasons, I'm thinking I'd like to move over to a digital piano. Would I regret this move? How much should I spend on a Roland or Clavinova (say) to get a better sound and an acceptable action. I'm never going to be a brilliant pianist, but I think I might be able to play up to grade 7 or 8 in an amateur way.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi,think you find it difficult to replica the feel and the sound of a modern quality Kemble grand piano with a digital piano, are you keeping grand piano ?,would have a look at the Kawai digital range.
