Justin Browne London Piano - Lock-Key

Post by pch832003 »

Bill

You very kindly provided me with information on my Piano's age that has been in the family for years. My aunt who was the Piano's previous owner lost the Key for the Piano and I would be grateful for any advice as to how to locate another key for my Piano?

I have attached a picture of my pride and joy to share with the forum who appreciate Piano's.

Any advice would be most helpful.

If it's a standard lever lock I can produce replacement keys.

Most piano dealers and tuners can obtain replacement lock-keys for most pianos, and these fall into very few types.

1. Solid key goes into a hole in the back of the lock.

2. Hollow "barrel" key like the barrel of a gun, fits over a pin.

3. Triangular tapered key. (A screwdriver works with these.)

Piano locks are very simple, and if you unscrew it and take it to a locksmith, they can make a key.

I don't see the picture!
