My J&J Hopkinson London Piano

Post by Fryderyk »

Hi guys. I have a J & J Hopkinson upright piano, serial number 51905, about 1895. I tried to restore it, cleaning ivory keys, mechanic, hammers. The piano maker is H.W. Charsley - (I supposed Henry William Charsley) - see here:

So I uploaded a video on youtube to show you my first piano:

I don't know about "Harmston & Co.": Do you know what it means?
Thanks a lot.

I couldn't see one single shot of the whole piano in that video. The piano's maker was Hopkinson, Charsley was just a key maker according to our information. Where did you find his name in the piano? Was it on a key? And is Harmston's name on the piano? He was a retailer.

In about 1895, Charsley made the keys for Hopkinson, who made the rest of the piano, and Harmston sold it.

Hello,

When you search for the name of euterpe you found your company name and when you searched for the name lexow berlin and united the name of your company and the piano that I own contains the two names I want to ask you about the piano, what is the prize that you received in Geneva as it is attached to the pictures and who are the owners of the signatures on the piano as it is attached to the pictures and my grandfather tells me that this piano was participating in the movie Lawrence Arabs I want to prove that The music of the film Maurice Garr and my grandfather got it because he was a military officer responsible for the Aqaba region Jordan during filming and responsible for his protection and when the completion of filming the film gave him the serial number: 6444 as attached to the pictures or can be 163 as attached to the pictures Type of piano euterpe

This picture on which the prize is missing is the mark on which lexow berlin is written as the picture that follows

Various numbers are on the piano

This has nothing to do with Hopkinson, you will get better results if you post it as a NEW TOPIC.

I explained when you emailed me 4 times that I do not understand your English, so I do not know what you want to know.

If you write to me in your own language, I will translate it.
