Legion of honor Brinsmead Piano

Post by AJR11 »

Hi All, I recently inherited a John Brinsmead Piano reference number 86130 and it has the legion of honor emblem inside. Does anyone know why it has this emblem?

S/N 86130 is c1959 the company was taken over by Kemble's in 1967 a

The Kemble name is now owned by Yamaha.

As to the badge probably one of the awards they won.

Brinsmead received the cross of the legion d'honneur in 1878, the information appeared on hundreds or thousands of pianos for years after.
