Broadwood Cottage Grand info

Post by Bob1954 »

Can anyone help with some information about this Broadwood piano please. Not looking to sell it, so not concerned about value. Just considering it's history and whether to spend time restoring it - even though it plays fine now, just very dusty.

The name W.Gillam imprinted into the wood is probably a senior worker at the Broadwood factory, but I can find no record of him. The early serial numbers for Broadwoods can be quite confusing, and various books and websites disagree, but 1142 does not appear to be a serial number. Can you find any larger numbers?
