Jackson piano

Post by WendyV »

I have recently received a family piano serial number 6844. It has inlay on front and label of G E Jackson 48 Southgate Street Leicester with what appears to be a crest at top of label. I am unable to load photos for you at this stage. Regards Wendy

I must apologise for the fact that, because of a fault, the forum didn't show me your enquiry. The page has been altered this week.
Jackson was at 33 Southgate Street in 1899, but moved to 48 shortly after, and remained there at least until the thirties.
Unfortunately, no dates of serial numbers are available, and it is likely that Jackson was just a retailer who bought in the pianos from a wholesaler.
