Age of Knauss piano

I have a knauss coblenz there are 2 serial numbers etched into the wood one is 15229 and then *40892. Could anyone tell me what year it was made etc. I have attached photos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Very few dates of serial numbers are published, and they can be misleading, because some Knauss pianos have numbers which do not correspond to the published dates. A star or asterisk is often used to indicate the serial number.
40892 is probably around 1893 and this seems possible from the photos, but I would have thought it was a little later.
The best bet is that if your tuner thinks it is safe to pull out the action (the working parts of the notes) it may be marked on the back with the action makers' name and number, and I may be able to date this.
