Erard 1918?

Post by Audrey12 »

Hello everyone,
Our Erard Grand piano has been in the family since I was a little girl. My mom and I were wondering about its history. We can't find the serial number information online. The only number I saw on the piano is 113987. Would love help finding out how old it is and the history. Thanks,
Audrey

If you have a look near the bottom of the page at
http://www.pianohistory.info/archives.html
there is a link to Erards' online archive.
The number suggests that it might be around 1869, but dating a piano purely on the basis of numbers is not always as simple as it seems.
Can you post photos here to show us what the whole piano looks like?

Hi Bill,
I tried to post photos but, alas, the site kept refusing them. I followed the directions posted for downloading photos. I'm sure I am missing an obvious step. I'll try again. :)
