KING BROTHERS PIANO LTD, LONDON second hand piano

Post by Bbrady3536 »

I just got a second hand piano from a friend of a friend for my children as my wife played years ago. It’s a lovely piano but would love to know the history. I don’t want a value just the history. It’s an up stand and the printed name is KING BROTHERS PIANO LTD, LONDON. I have tried looking up and only find a few vaguely stories. Any help would be great. Thank you

There are pictures online of a young Elton John playing a King Brothers piano, but very little is known about the company. The only references I have on file are between 1911 and 1949, at Tresham Avenue, Hackney Station.
King is a very common surname, so it is not surprising that a number of piano and music firms bear the name.
If you want to search inside the piano for clues, have a look at

If you find old references or links on this site to pianogen.org, they should refer to pianohistory.info
