Horne and Thompson of Burton upon Trent

Post by Steve Christian »

Hi, Does anyone know anything about this make? I can't find anything myself, its a mahogany upright possibly 1920ish?
I was wondering if its possible it was made by someone else and rebranded?
Thanks Steve

Edgar Horne was in Burton-upon-Trent in the 1880s and 1890s, and his name appears on pianos, but he was probably just one of many retailers buying in pianos from wholesalers and putting his name onto them. By 1911, they were Horne Thompson & Co. and by the thirties, they were a limited company. I am in the process of moving home and collection to Lincolnshire, so I can't refer to books and paperwork for more details at the moment.

If you want to search inside the piano for clues, have a look at
