Hello Everyone,

First of all I am not a Piano person at all, but my wifes family is quite musical and I have *inherited* this old Calisia Piano (which appears to have not been treated as well as it could have been) and I need help trying to locate its age and whether it is worth having it restored or if I should sell it and get something newer (and better)

The serial number I found is 13820 and it is stamped and written on several pieces of the piano
It has 2 pedals

I have also attached some photos

Thanks in advance for all the help

The number suggests that it may have been made around the 1914 war. For general information on pianos of that period, see

Two pedals is the normal arrangement. Can you provide photos that show what the whole piano looks like? The most important factor deciding the value of a piano is its condition, and the most important aspect of that is whether it holds in tune, because repinning and restringing will cost over a thousand pounds, and this is usually more than an old piano is worth. Nobody can guess the value or condition of a piano without inspecting it on the spot, and tuning it, so your local tuner is the best person to ask about that. Here in Britain, where antique pianos are plentiful, unrestored ones have very little value, and we are offered several each year for nothing.
