Carl Otto, Berlin

Very few dates of Carl Otto's numbers are published, and these do not look anything like your number. The problems of dating pianos purely by numbers are discussed at
http://www.pianohistory.info/numbers.html

If there are exhibition medals illustrated on the piano, these might be dated 1885, 1889 or 1891, and the piano would have been made after the last one shown, as described at
http://www.pianohistory.info/exhibition.html

I might be able to tell you more if you could post photos to show what the whole piano looks like, or email them to me to post.

Most Otto pianos are from about 1890-1910, so have a look at the general information at
http://www.pianohistory.info/edwardian.html

Otherwise, the best hope is to ask your tuner to remove the action (the working parts of the notes) and look for the action makers' name and number.
