William Sames Piano

Post by andiem » 23 Jul 2013, 03:49

I have a William Sames upright piano #16727 that has been in my family for generations. I am not sure whether a family member brought it to New Zealand, but I understand that to be the case. I'm having trouble finding out its age. I know the factory was burned down in the early 1900's but I'm hoping there is a record that could provide more information. Thank you for any assistance with this.

They had a fire in1913, but it was the 1921 one that finished the job, No exact dates are available for Sames' numbers, but I think yours should be about 1911. Without photos of the whole piano, it is impossible to know whether this is likely. There may be dates inside, see
