Hi DB, I wanted to get a piano theory thingy for my daughter, she has a dreaded DS1 (I say dreaded as I have a deep suspicion of things with plugs  ) anyway, the only one I could find used American terminology for notes, so, quarter notes etc. I may not find this a problem, but she's already getting herself confused about different theory books using different mnemonics for remembering the notes one the stave that I didn't want to compound the problem. Does the APP your wife found use yer good old crochets?

ABRSM do an aural app for the iPhone which is really good, there's also an amazing sight reading app on the iPad, it's great, it gives you 30 secs to look over the piece, you set your metronome, it counts you in and the bars disappear when it gets to the point it should have been played!! It's not easy as it forces you to keep up, but it's good practice!!

http://www.sightreadingpractice.com/cgi ... 76659&cr=2, I've played this one with Boo a few times, you can set treble, bass or both and whether to have a "hint note" on the keyboard (turn it off!) She really enjoys it, though the page is a bit busy. It's not one for a mobile phone, though...

I like the apps where you have to name notes fast in the clefs. its like sight reading with one note to work out. Good for us newbies, I searched music theory and it was f  ree

If you have the right version of software on your Disklavier Mk4 or E3, you can get an app to use your iPhone as a remote control for the piano.

Hi,

I created an app called Tiny Piano (it's free) for the iPad and iPhone.

Kids seem to really enjoy it! It's just a fun way to tap out songs on your iOS device. I hope you enjoy it!

I've just got this, as I'm a big Adele fan. The way it shows the music is very clever.
