Did I have some posts of mine deleted?

I'm a forgetful sort of chap so perhaps I'm imagining things but have some of my posts been deleted lately?
I remember giving some advice about the very low value of some very poor quality pianos that were being asked about.

Cheers :)

Don't think I've ever deleted one of your posts, Mark. Unless it was about selling trainers/phones/certain medicines!

Was that in Piano History?

Thanks chaps.
It could have been yes markymark.
But wherever it was, I only commented about value if it was relevant to the requests made by the OP.

I think Bill mentioned about a post being removed (or will be removed) - not sure if it was yours Mark?

Ask Bill .... he might know

Don't take it personally - Bill can be a wet blanket when it comes to the Piano History forum - he is the only moderator that actually corrects other people's spelling and grammar! I've an English degree and could run words around him, but I still wouldn't correct someone's spelling unless it was completely the wrong word, e.g. hare, hair. He seems to forget that although he benefits from it, he doesn't own the Piano History forum!

The only "benefit" I get is volunteering for a non-profit history project. Postings do disappear occasionally, I am not the only one who has said this in the past. Since I didn't even know this page existed, there was not much chance of contacting me through it, it is simple enough to email me. What I said was...

We are having what I hope is a friendly discussion about the history of a piano, because this is a PIANO HISTORY forum, there is no need for anyone to be rude or abusive, nobody said it was a valuable antique, we are discussing history because we are INTERESTED. Anyone who isn't interested is not under any obligation to look at the forum, let alone offer rude, offensive or derogatory comments. These, and blind valuations will be removed.

I say once again, it is illegal for this website to quote values. Anyone who wants to offer valuations can do it on their own website. After extensive investigations, it seems that only auctioneers are usually licensed valuers, and the only one I have found in years who is willing to deal with piano values is Piano Auctions Ltd.

I'm not trying to have a go at you Bill but if you felt this way, it would have been a better idea to contact Mark and explain why his post had to be removed. Had this been done, there certainly wouldn't have been the confusion and possible ill-feeling caused by a brisk deletion of two of his posts - a temporary warning on a page isn't always going to reach all parties concerned.

Mark is a regular poster on this forum - not like the 'one-post-wonders', of which the OP is part, who outnumber the regular, interested posters that contribute to the Piano History forum. While it may be all business some parts of the forum, others here are trying to develop some form of friendship on the forums, a characteristic that has set us apart from some other forums. So despite the authenticity of your intentions, acting out of spontaneous, impersonal legalism is not going to help any of the forums in the long term.

I'm just saying it the way it is!

Blind valuations are my forte :)
Has there ever been a court case anywhere on planet earth involving a blind valuation of a straight-strung over-damped Berry.

I'm not going to argue about this. I'll just carry on as I've never yet had an OP accuse me of being rude.
