Splendid! And I disagree - there is NO upper age limit to learning an instrument. But learning it SUCCESSFULLY...! I speak as one who had a thoroughly useless gitbox lesson today. Might as well have been sightreading!

As long as you've found a way of making music that suits you, that's excellent. You are a sociable person and the piano is solitary; so bells are perfect for you. And the piano is perfect for an antisocial old mare like me... :D

Re: What's Made You Happy Today???

I want to kill kids serving in shops who seem to think 'You all right there?' is an acceptable alternative to 'Can I help you, madam?' I always say 'No, I have a backache and my husband's run off with his secretary.' Stuns them into a nervous silence, usually.

I wish pianists wouldn't be so scared of the organ; it'd make finding accompanists for services so much easier and I wouldn't be doing eight gigs over Christmas. As you know, organ playing's not as hard as people think it is!

How IS it pronounced?
Apparently 'Weight Limit 3 Tons' is pronounced as 'I have a 40 ton lorry and I'm going to drive it over this bridge' in Lithuanian. Marlow Bridge now closed for the forseeable while engineers try to sort out the damage done by Girteka Logistics on Saturday night; halfwits.

Looks as though the festival is getting bigger and bigger - great news for the area. Successful music festivals do a lot - people come who don't know the area that well and realise how nice it is. Almost as good as a tourist office! Do you get cup hunters who 'do' every festival for miles?

Loved that one. My niece as a kid had an obsession about Popcorn and made my brother play it every day. I liked the Crunch by the Rah Band too. There were some good electronic instrumentals in the 70s.
